Abstract

Learning in elementary schools often feels boring when teachers only rely on lectures, making students passive and leading to suboptimal learning outcomes. This library research with a descriptive qualitative approach aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Game-Based Learning (GBL) model assisted by the Wordwall digital platform on elementary school students' learning outcomes. Data were collected through a documentation study of three previous research articles and then analyzed using content analysis. The results show that the combination of the GBL model and Wordwall is consistently proven to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes. In 4th and 5th-grade Science and Social Studies (IPAS), the use of Wordwall's interactive quizzes successfully produced much higher class average scores compared to conventional classrooms. Meanwhile, in 4th-grade Mathematics, the student mastery learning rate jumped drastically to reach 100% after three action cycles. This combination proves to be highly flexible and adaptive, as it transforms a rigid classroom atmosphere into a fun, student-centered environment. Through various game features, students can actively participate and understand the lesson materials more easily through educational play experiences.
