Faktor-Faktor Yang Berhubungan Dengan keberhasilan Pelaksanaan IMD Di Ruang Melati RSU TH II.DR. AK. Gani Palembang Tahun 2025

Abstract

Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (EIB) is an important effort to reduce infant morbidity and mortality rates and to support the success of exclusive breastfeeding. However, its implementation in health care facilities has not been fully optimal. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with the successful implementation of EIB in the Melati Ward of RSU TK II dr. AK Gani Palembang in 2025. The study used a quantitative analytic cross sectional design conducted from June to July 2025, with data collection carried out from June 1 to July 15, 2025, involving 85 respondents selected through incidental sampling from 585 mothers who gave birth during the January–May 2025 period. Primary data were obtained through structured interviews using a closed-ended questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability to measure knowledge, family support, education level, and EIB implementation, and were supported by secondary data from medical records and hospital reports. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the majority of respondents implemented EIB. Maternal knowledge, family support, and education level were significantly associated with EIB implementation. Mothers with good knowledge, adequate family support, and higher education levels were more likely to successfully practice EIB. It can be concluded that individual and environmental factors play an important role in the successful implementation of EIB, highlighting the need to improve education and strengthen family support in health care facilities.
