Background: Dental caries is one of the oral health problems experienced by many school-age children. Prevention efforts can be done through providing education using learning media that is interesting and easily understood by students. Objectives: This study aims to determine the comparison between Powtoon animation videos and motion graphic videos in increasing students' knowledge about dental caries. Methods: The research design used was a quasi experiment with a two-group pretest-post-test design. The sample consisted of 32 students who were randomly divided into two groups, each of which received treatment in the form of playing powtoon animated videos and motion graphic videos. The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test. Results : showed that the average ranking of the increase in student knowledge scores in the group using motion graphic videos was consistently higher than the group using Powtoon animated videos, with significance values of 0.017; 0.000; and 0.043 (p < 0.05), respectively. This indicates a statistically significant difference between the two media at all three measurement stages. Conclusion: It can be concluded that motion graphic video media is more effective than powtoon animation video in increasing students' knowledge about dental caries. The use of visual media that is dynamic, interactive, and informative is proven to be an effective way to increase students' knowledge about dental caries.
