Hospitalization is a period when a child must face inpatient care due to a health condition. This can cause anxiety, stress, or trauma, resulting in negatif responses in the child, such as uncooperativeness during treatment and impacting recovery. One way to minimize the impact of hospitalization is by playing origami, a game suitable for preschoolers. This study aimed to determine the effect of playing origami on hospitalization anxiety in preschool children. This study used a quasi-experimental pretest and posttest group design without a control group. The sample was 13 parents of children aged 3-6 years who were hospitalized in the Edelweis Inpatient Ward at Dr. M. Yunus Regional Hospital, Bengkulu. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. The data were analyzed using a paired sample test. The results showed a mean score before the hospitalization of 24.31, while the mean score after the hospitalization was 18.62. Hospitalization anxiety decreased by 5.69 points, with a p-value of 0.003. The conclusion is that playing origami has an effect on hospitalization anxiety in preschool children at Dr. M. Yunus Regional Hospital.
