Breast cancer remains one of the major health problems among women in Indonesia, with a considerable proportion of cases still being diagnosed at an advanced stage. This condition indicates the urgency to assess the level of awareness among high-risk groups, particularly menopausal women, as an effort to support the optimization of early detection and prevention of breast cancer. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of awareness of menopausal women regarding breast cancer at UPTD Puter Public Health Center, Bandung. This study used a descriptive quantitative design with an accidental sampling technique and involved 107 menopausal women at UPTD Puter Public Health Center, Bandung. Data were collected using the Breast Cancer Awareness Scale–Indonesia (BCAS-I) questionnaire, which has been tested for validity and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.79), and data were analyzed using univariate analysis. The results showed that the level of awareness of menopausal women regarding breast cancer in all BCAS-I domains was in the moderate category, including knowledge of risk factors (71 respondents), knowledge of signs and symptoms (71 respondents), attitudes toward prevention (89 respondents), barriers to breast examination (80 respondents), and healthy behaviors related to breast cancer awareness (86 respondents), with the lowest scores found in the domains of knowledge of risk factors and knowledge of signs and symptoms, and the highest score found in the domain of attitudes toward prevention. These findings indicate that respondents’ awareness has been established at a basic level; however, it still requires improvement through more intensive health education in the form of promotive and preventive efforts at the primary health care level.
