Attitudes toward people with mental disorders (ODGJ) are one of the factors that influence the quality of mental health services. Negative attitudes can influence how individuals perceive and interact with ODGJ. Nursing students, as future health workers, will be directly involved in mental health services, so it is important to understand their attitudes toward ODGJ. This study aims to determine the attitudes of nursing students at Padjadjaran University toward ODGJ. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional survey design. The study population consisted of 917 students with a sample of 279 respondents. Data collection took place over one month, from January 5 to February 1, 2026. Attitudes were measured using the Community Attitudes toward the Mentally Ill (CAMI) questionnaire and analyzed univariately. The results showed that the average score for authoritarianism was 28.33 (SD 2), benevolence was 36.48 (SD 3), social restrictiveness was 25.71 (SD 3), and community mental health ideology was 35.08 (SD 3). Based on the results of the study, it was found that the most dominant attitude was benevolence, which means that students tend to be caring and supportive of the social acceptance of people with mental disorders. Therefore, this attitude needs to be maintained and strengthened. However, there are still certain dimensions that need to be improved through the mental health nursing learning process.
