Parenting patterns implemented by parents play a crucial role in supporting optimal child growth and development. One way to improve the quality of parenting is through counseling for mothers. This study aims to analyze the relationship between counseling for mothers and changes in parenting behavior in optimizing child growth and development. The study employed a quantitative method with a correlational analytical design through a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of mothers with children aged 0–5 years. A total of 27 respondents were selected as samples using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire, then analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed that most respondents received counseling in the good category and showed changes in parenting behavior that were also in the good category. The Spearman Rank test obtained a p-value of 0.003 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of r = 0.62. These results demonstrate a significant and strong relationship between counseling for mothers and changes in parenting behavior. Thus, counseling for mothers has a significant relationship with changes in parenting behavior in supporting optimal child growth and development. Health workers, especially midwives, need to improve the quality and continuity of counseling for mothers so that children's growth and development can take place optimally.
