Hubungan Sikap dan Tingkat Kesiapsiagaan dalam Menghadapi Bencana Gempa Bumi pada Kelompok Disabilitas: Tuna Rungu SLB Negeri Cicendo Kota Bandung

Abstract

Earthquake disasters have a significant impact on vulnerable groups, including hearing-impaired individuals who face challenges in receiving audio information, accessing early warnings, and disaster education materials, which increases their risk during such events. Attitudes toward preparedness play an important role in encouraging preventive actions and appropriate responses. Objective: To determine the relationship between attitudes toward preparedness and the level of earthquake disaster preparedness among hearing-impaired students at SLB Negeri Cicendo Kota Bandung. Methods: This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design with a population consisting of all hearing-impaired students at SLB Negeri Cicendo Bandung from grades X, XI, and XII. A total of 38 respondents were selected using total sampling. Data were analyzed univariately using frequency distribution and percentages, and bivariately using Pearson correlation. Results: Results showed that all students had a positive attitude (68.4%), and their level of earthquake disaster preparedness was categorized as prepared (39.5%) and very prepared (23.7%). Additionally, there was a moderate positive correlation between attitude and preparedness (p-value = 0.000). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between attitudes toward preparedness and the level of earthquake preparedness among students at SLB Negeri Cicendo Kota Bandung. It is hoped that regular earthquake preparedness training will be enhanced in accordance with the characteristics of the disabled group.
