Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is a health problem that continues to increase globally, both in developed and developing countries. This condition is one of the main causes of high morbidity and mortality rates due to non-communicable diseases. Type 2 DM also contributes significantly to various chronic complications, such as cardiovascular disease, kidney disorders, and visual impairment, which impact the quality of life of sufferers. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest design. All respondents were given an initial assessment (pretest), followed by a Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) intervention, and then a re-assessment (posttest) to assess changes in knowledge scores. The population in this study was all type 2 diabetes mellitus patients visiting the Pembina Community Health Center in Palembang, totaling 775 people based on data from the Pembina Community Health Center. The sample size was 25 respondents. This study obtained a p-value (Asymp. Sig.) <0.001. Because the p-value was less than 0.05 (p <0.05), Ha was accepted and H2 was rejected. This indicates a significant effect of providing Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) on the level of knowledge of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the Pembina Community Health Center in Palembang City in 2026.Downloads
