hemoglobin (Hb) in the blood is insufficient to meet physiological needs (Yulia dkk, 2024). Anemia during pregnancy may adversely affect maternal health, including fatigue, shortness of breath, difficulty resting, and palpitations, and may also lead to adverse fetal outcomes such as low birth weight (LBW), infection, miscarriage, and preterm birth (Sipayung, 2024). This study aimed to examine the relationship between nutritional status, dietary patterns, and adherence to iron tablet consumption with the incidence of anemia among pregnant women. This study employed a quantitative analytic survey with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of all pregnant women attending antenatal care at Bidan Praktik Mandiri Winda Lusiati, A.Md.Keb, Palembang City. A total sampling technique was applied, involving 62 pregnant women who attended antenatal care during June–July 2025. Data were collected through hemoglobin measurement, assessment of nutritional status, and structured questionnaire-based interviews. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. The results showed that 24 respondents (38.7%) had anemia, while 38 respondents (61.3%) did not. Bivariate analysis demonstrated a significant relationship between nutritional status (p = 0.000), dietary patterns (p = 0.016), and adherence to iron tablet consumption (p = 0.000) with the incidence of anemia among pregnant women. These findings may serve as evidence for health workers to strengthen nutritional interventions, dietary counseling, and adherence to iron supplementation in preventing anemia during pregnancy.
