Abstrak

A clinical laboratory is a health laboratory that performs examination services on clinical samples to obtain information about health conditions. In each stage of the examination quality control procedure, which consists of three stages: pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical. One factor that affects the accuracy of the examination results is the pre-analytical stage, specifically the time the blood is left to stand before centrifugation. Glucose is an important parameter in evaluating blood sugar levels and is often used in clinical chemistry examinations. This study aims to determine the difference in blood glucose levels when standing for 15 minutes and 30 minutes before centrifugation. Venous blood samples of ± 3 mL were collected in Vacutainer serum separator tubes, then left for 15 minutes and 30 minutes before centrifugation. Glucose examinations were performed using a Bio System BA200 device, and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. There were differences in the results of the blood glucose level examination when standing for 15 minutes and for 30 minutes. Further research can utilize storage at lower room temperatures.
