Jurnal Abdimas Musi Charitas (JAMC)

Description: Jurnal Abdimas Musi Charitas (JAMC) is published biannually by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Catholic University Musi Charitas (UKMC), Palembang, in June and December. The journal is dedicated to advancing research in community service activities and aims to disseminate valuable findings and practical solutions derived from community service projects. It contributes to social development, public welfare, education, health, and other areas that enhance community well-being and empowerment.

Scope and Focus: JAMC publishes original research articles, case studies, and reviews that highlight the design, implementation, and impact of community service initiatives. The journal covers a wide range of topics including:

  • Social Development: Initiatives aimed at improving community life and social conditions.
  • Public Welfare: Programs and activities that support disadvantaged groups and promote general well-being.
  • Education: Projects that enhance educational opportunities and outcomes.
  • Health: Efforts to improve health services and community health outcomes.
  • Community Empowerment: Strategies that enable communities to actively participate in their own development.

Article Selection Process:

Articles are selected for publication by the editor and peer reviewers through a blind review process. Articles are evaluated based on their compliance with journal publication standards, methodological clarity, and contribution to the advancement of knowledge and practice. The editor and peer reviewers are responsible for providing constructive feedback and, if necessary, providing evaluation results to the authors.

Article Submission:

Articles can only be submitted via the JKB Online Journal System (OJS). The journal does not accept submissions via email or direct mail.

Author Declaration Form (Download here):

  • Authors are required to complete and submit the Author Declaration Form, which includes statements on publication ethics, copyright, plagiarism, conflict of interest, and manuscript suitability.
  • This form must be submitted along with the manuscript via the online journal system. Failure to provide accurate information or comply with the declaration may result in rejection or withdrawal of the manuscript.

Article Submission Guidelines

  • General Format:

    • Articles should be typed with single spacing on A4 paper.
    • Length of the article: 10-15 pages (including 2 pages for references and 8-13 pages for the main content).
    • Margins: Left and Right 3 cm, Top and Bottom 2.5 cm, Header 1.25 cm, Footer 1.5 cm.
    • Paragraph indentation: 0.75 cm.
  • Citations and References:

    • Citations in the text should be written in parentheses with the author's last name, year without a comma, and page number if necessary.
    • The reference list must only include sources cited in the text.
    • Minimum 30 references, with 70% from journals and 30% from books. Articles should be published within the last 5 years, and books within the last 10 years.
    • All references must include active DOIs and be managed using reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero.
  • Article Structure:

    • Title: Maximum 14 words. Font size 14, bold, uppercase.
    • Author Names: List all authors without academic titles. Include affiliations (department/program, faculty, university) and email addresses.
    • Abstract: 130-150 words, covering background, approach, results, and conclusions. Abstract should be written in both Indonesian and English. (Times New Roman 11, single-spaced, italicized).
    • Keywords: 3-5 keywords or phrases, separated by commas, bolded, and in Times New Roman 11.
    • Introduction: Explains background, issues, and research objectives. (Times New Roman 11, single-spaced).
    • Methodology: Details on implementation stages, methods used, and challenges faced. (Times New Roman 11, single-spaced).
    • Results and Discussion: Presents results and discusses findings including relevant documentation and evaluation. (Times New Roman 11, single-spaced).
    • Conclusion: Summarizes the research findings, implications, limitations, and future recommendations. (Times New Roman 11, single-spaced).
    • Acknowledgments: Acknowledges funding sources, partners, and contributors. (Times New Roman 11, single-spaced).
    • References: Arranged alphabetically with the appropriate format.

Reference Formatting:

  • Journal Articles: Author(s). (Year). Title of the article. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), Page numbers. DOI.
    • Example: Cartlidge, J. (2012). Crossing boundaries: Using fact and fiction in adult learning. The Journal of Artistic and Creative Education, 6(1), 94-111. DOI:10.1080/19403210.2012.676410
  • Books: Author(s). (Year). Title of the Book. Publisher.
    • Example: Hair, J. F., Hult, G. T. M., Ringle, C. M., & Sarstedt, M. (2013). A Primer on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Sage.
  • Internet Articles: Author(s). (Year). Title of the article. Website Name. Retrieved from URL on Date.

Author Declaration Form:

  • Authors are required to complete and submit the Author Declaration Form, which includes statements on publication ethics, copyright, plagiarism, conflict of interest, and manuscript suitability. Failure to provide accurate information or comply with the declaration may result in rejection or withdrawal of the manuscript.

Article Withdrawal:

  • Cancellation After Review Assignment: Authors who withdraw their submission after the manuscript has been assigned to reviewers will be subject to a cancellation fee to cover administrative and review costs.
  • Procedure for Withdrawal: To withdraw a manuscript, authors must submit a formal withdrawal request through the journal’s online submission system. The journal will confirm receipt of the withdrawal request and detail any applicable fees.
  • Refund Policy: If the manuscript is withdrawn before the review process begins, the journal may offer a partial refund of any associated submission fees. No refunds will be provided for fees related to the review process if the manuscript is withdrawn after the review has been initiated.

Important Notes:

  • All articles must adhere to the established writing guidelines.
  • Articles that do not follow the JAMC template will be rejected.
  • The language used in all articles is Indonesian and English.
  • Articles must be submitted with an ethics statement, conflict of interest declaration, and comply with JAMC's open access policy, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
